Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran, one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February of 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 purchase to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second in a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied on food delivered by an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and was rude to her mother and condescension, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran was struggling in school, and she discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was a failure in several courses in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
