Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress comedian, writer, and actress. O'Hara has won a number awards that include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018 she was recognized as an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she won the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards. O'Hara first became known as an actress when she was a member the The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara began working with Candy on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara was praised for her stand-up and writing skills, winning the Primetime Emmy Award of Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
